Agroforestry, the integration of trees and shrubs into agricultural landscapes, offers an innovative approach to sustainable farming. This practice blends agriculture with forestry to enhance productivity, environmental sustainability, and socio-economic benefits. Agroforestry practices can increase biodiversity, improve soil fertility, reduce erosion, and sequester carbon, contributing to climate change mitigation. This paper explores the diverse benefits of agroforestry, outlines its core practices, and reviews case studies from different regions. In doing so, it highlights the need for policy support, research, and extension services to scale up agroforestry for global sustainability goals.
