Abstract

This paper performs an overview of industrial and domestic waste. The impact of industrial and domestic waste on the environment is a pressing concern globally. The environment, comprising the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and biosphere, is facing unprecedented threats from waste pollution. Industrial and domestic waste, if not managed properly, can lead to air, water, and soil pollution. The atmosphere is polluted by the release of greenhouse gases, particulate matter, and other harmful substances, contributing to climate change, respiratory diseases, and other health issues. The hydrosphere is also severely affected, with waste disposal leading to water pollution, harming aquatic life, and affecting human health. The lithosphere is degraded through the disposal of hazardous waste, reducing soil fertility and affecting plant growth. The biosphere, which includes all living organisms, is under threat from waste pollution. Pathogens, heavy metals, and other pollutants can accumulate in the food chain, causing harm to humans and wildlife. To mitigate these impacts, proper waste management practices, such as recycling, composting, and safe disposal, are essential. Governments, industries, and individuals must work together to reduce waste generation, increase waste treatment, and promote sustainable practices.
