The decline in bee populations is emerging as one of the most pressing environmental concerns, significantly impacting global food security. Pollinators, particularly bees, play a critical role in the pollination of a wide range of crops. However, various factors such as pesticide usage, habitat loss, climate change, and disease have contributed to a steep decline in bee populations. This paper explores the causes of bee decline, its ecological consequences, and the direct and indirect implications for global food security. By analyzing the global trends of pollinator populations, the study presents the urgent need for sustainable agricultural practices, conservation efforts, and policy interventions to mitigate the crisis. The role of research in understanding the complexities surrounding this issue is emphasized, with a focus on potential strategies for combating bee decline and ensuring food security.
